I play guitar with a small church group we call "The Joyful Noise". The name fits! Recently we were asked to play at the Friends Of Portsmouth Island Homecoming. This would have been the fourth time for us, the event takes place every two years. Portsmouth is an island next to Ocracoke Island, part of the North Carolina Outer Banks. It was a thriving seaport in the late 1700's to the mid 1800's. No one lives there today except Park Ranger caretakers, but many structures are being maintained and restored. The weather was poor and many of the group were unable to attend, but we did sing at the restored Church. Take a walk with us into the past at Portsmouth Island.
